At St Brendan’s, Lake Munmorah you will become part of a welcoming and inclusive Catholic education experience where genuine collaboration and shared leadership are valued.
The students at St Brendan’s are encouraged to live, learn and grow as disciples of Jesus in a nurturing Catholic community. We are a hope-filled, positive community underpinned by strong relational trust. At St Brendan’s we encourage positive relationships, our students and staff are encouraged to strive for excellence and we celebrate our spiritual journey with our Parish and focus on our school motto “Alive in Christ.”
Our SBLM acronym – St Brendan’s, Lake Munmorah will also represent our Positive Behaviour for Learning! Strive High, Be Alive in Christ, Let’s Learn, Make Good Choices.
Learning is prioritised at our school, children are able to articulate what they are learning and why. Learning is fun, learning activities are adjusted to meet individual needs of each student and learning is about individual growth.
When your child is engaged in authentic, meaningful learning, their chance of success increases. That’s why we embrace student-led learning. Flexible learning spaces, technology, innovative problem solving and student leadership are some of the ways students contribute to their education at St Brendan’s.
We believe passionately in the benefit of inclusive learning. Our Eileen O’Connor Yellow Classes caters for a small group of students with significant learning needs with a view to transition to their Parish School’ classes.
At every step, we provide vibrant, purposeful learning experiences that nurture all students to:
Develop a love of learning
Be respectful
Fulfil their potential
We are involved in many initiatives here at St Brendan’s and are committed to quality education for each individual. We educate our students for the future whilst engaging in technology and STEM (Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities promoting problem solving, collaboration and developing a love for learning.
St Brendan’s is a professional learning community promoting the growth of each individual, both staff and students through collaborative coaching opportunities. I encourage all parents and carers to be active participants in the educational and spiritual journey of your children and to develop positive relationships with our staff to support your children.
Our vision emulates the Vision for Catholic Schools Broken Bay Toward 2025 and we celebrate individual uniqueness and cater for all students’ social, emotional, wellbeing and academic opportunities.
At St Brendan’s we believe a balanced education is important. Consequently, our students enjoy a wide range of learning, sporting, musical and social justice opportunities. We endeavour to help our students develop their skills, resilience and talents, along with a strong sense of compassion and justice, so that they will make a positive difference in our community and throughout their life.
We value parent involvement in our Parish, Parents Advisory Group and school events. There are many celebrations for our families to participate in and you’re encouraged to practise your faith in our school community.
