In Science, Year 1 are learning about living things and what they need to survive. In week 4, Year 1 went on an excursion where we learnt about Australian plants and animals. We also learnt about how the local Indigenous Awabakal People lived off the land and cared for the environment. This week, Year 1 welcomed baby chicks and ducklings to our school! Through the chicken hatchling program, the Year 1 students are learning about the life cycle of chickens and that they need water, food, shelter and warmth to survive. The chicks will be with us until the end of next week. What an exciting term of learning in Year 1!
